Peyton has served in church ministry for 15 years. He was the senior pastor of Highland Baptist Church in Grove City, OH, and then First Baptist Church of Prattville, AL, before moving to Tallahassee, FL to begin the church planting process at City Church. Peyton holds a PhD in Applied Theology from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he also teaches. He is the co-author of Exalting Jesus in Numbers in the Christ-Centered Exposition Commentary series. His ministry centers on proclaiming Christ from the whole Bible, sharing the gospel with urgency, discipling young leaders, and sending out church planters and global missionaries.

Peyton and Jordan Lee have been married since 2012 and have five children: Harper, Zane, Elliot, Wren, and Annmarie. Their family enjoys spending time together—whether playing football in the front yard, exploring new places, watching a movie on Friday nights,  or tracking down the best Mexican food they can find.

The Hills prayed about church planting for more than a decade before finally putting their “yes” on the table. Their desire is to be on the frontlines of God’s Great Commission, and they are thrilled about the opportunity to plant Christ City Church in Huntsville by planting their lives in that rapidly growing city.
